Effect of fines migration on oil recovery from carbonate rocks

We perform single-phase and two-phase flooding on Edwards Brown rock samples. The injection was of seawater or CaCl2 brine, at successive salinities 0.63, 0.21, 0.07, 0.05, 0 mol/L (distilled water). For brine experimental run, no significant fines migration permeability decrease is observed. distilled water found to bring about the highest concentration produced most decrease, with ultimate being 99.94%. Therefore, used stimulate in following runs. Two-phase experiments are performed four samples using as aqueous phase, Soltrol® 130 crude oil oleic phase. Rock initially fully saturated 0.63 selected solution. This followed by injecting a constant rate for least 20 pore volumes displace brine. Next, injected oil, finally water. recover additional either type oil.
